Social Housing Advocacy and Support
The Social Housing Advocacy and Support Program provides advocacy and support to applicants and tenants of Social Housing.
Social Housing refers to Public Housing, Long Term Community Housing, and tenants of Common Equity Rental Co-op (CERC) Programs.
The program provides free and independent advocacy and support services which are delivered in a confidential and non-judgemental manner.
How can the Tenant Support Worker assist you?
The Tenant Support Worker will provide advocacy for:
- Rental arrears
- Neighbourhood disputes
- Victorian and Civil Administrative Tribunal hearings
- Appeals
- Disputes over minor maintenance
- Office of Housing (OoH) complaints
The Tenant Support Worker will provide support to:
- Early Housing applicants who require support and advocacy to determine their eligibility
- New tenants of public housing to assist in establishing a successful tenancy
- Tenants whose tenancy is at high risk due to rental arrears, neighbourhood disputes, tenancy breaches
