Housing Support for Indigenous Tenants
The Indigenous Tenants at Risk program (ITAR) provides assistance to people who are current tenants of the Office of Housing (OoH) or Aboriginal Housing Victoria and who have been identified as being at high risk of losing their tenancy.
The program aims to sustain existing tenancies.
The program provides free and independent support which is delivered in a confidential, culturally appropriate, and non-judgemental manner.
How can the Housing Support Worker – Indigenous Tenants assist you?
The Housing Support Worker – Indigenous Tenants will support Indigenous tenants by:
- Developing case plans to sustain existing housing
- Providing advocacy to address immediate housing needs
- Referral to specialist support that can provide additional assistance
- Giving people a voice in addressing their housing difficulties
